WISCONSIN DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE, TRADE AND CONSUMER PROTECTION (DATCP)

DATCP cautions that starting a food business can be complicated. The department's Division of Food Safety regulates the processing and sale of food items manufactured and sold in Wisconsin. It has regional offices located around the state. WISCONSIN WOMEN'S BUSINESS INITIATIVE (WWBIC)

The Wisconsin Women's Business Initiative Corporation (WWBIC) is an economic development corporation providing quality business education, technical assistance and access to capital for entrepreneurs. Established in 1987, WWBIC consults, educates and mentors owners of small and micro businesses throughout Wisconsin. It concentrates its efforts with women, people of color and those of lower incomes.

 







 

WISCONSIN ENTREPRENEUR'S NETWORK

The Wisconsin Entrepreneurs' Network (WEN) provides entrepreneurs with access to a statewide network of resources and expertise. These include identifying high-potential entrepreneurs and helping move their businesses forward, facilitating collaboration between entrepreneurs and organizations that assist entrepreneurs, and helping create and grow minority-owned businesses.

 

  

WISCONSIN HOUSING AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY (WHEDA)

Transform Milwaukee

The Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority (WHEDA) has a new financing program under its Transform Milwaukee Initiative that provides incentives to lenders that make small business loans in the Transform Milwaukee area. WHEDA loan guarantees help reduce financial risk and exposure to small business lenders and help ensure that qualified small businesses have access to funding.
