“Big, small, local, and global. Regardless of your size, how can we work better together to make our food futures?”

Join us on September 21st for a café event on Building Your Business: Making Food Our Future. We’ll be at Marquette University for a half-day event dedicated to food and beverage companies with ambitions to grow their business.

Start-ups, mature businesses, local companies, global companies, entrepreneurs, business owners, and leaders all have one thing in common: they seek growth. And industry growth is at the cornerstone of FaB’s mission. But how well is Wisconsin poised to support your growth? There’s no one better to ask than you.

At this unique café-style event, we’ll bring together food and beverage companies from across the industry, their suppliers, and technical and professional service providers to learn and discuss Wisconsin’s food and beverage future. The output desired is input on how to strengthen our industry ecosystem to better support your growth, regardless of the size of your company.

The morning will culminate in a café discussion – a facilitated event format that gets everyone talking. Knowing that all effective discussions require grounding and direction, we’ll kick off the morning with a presentation by the Editor-in-Chief of Food Processing (and Marquette grad), Dave Fusaro, who will share his perspective on industry trends and innovations shaping our food future.

Additional grounding will be offered by the ten young and fast growing companies selected to participate in the FaBcap Accelerator (companies to be announced August 25.) You’ll be among the first to meet them! Each will be given three minutes to share their story, ambitions, and challenges.
We then move into café discussion mode. The room is set with tables of six: two representatives from the ten FaBcap companies, one Capper from our previous accelerator class, and four remaining attendees. After some discussion guidelines are set, attendees at their tables are asked to explore our café question: “Big, small, local and global, how can we work better together to make our food futures?”  Attendees will go through three 15-minute rounds of discussion, getting up at each interval to move to a new table.

3 REASONS TO ATTEND
1. Lean forward. We’ve secured the Editor-in-Chief of Food Processing (and Marquette grad), Dave Fusaro, to share his perspective on industry trends and innovations shaping our food future.

2. Meet up. Be the first to meet and hear from our newly announced 2017-2018 FaBcap Accelerator Class of ten fast-growing companies who are making food their future. You’ll learn what drives their passion and their ambitions, and how they’ve overcome some of the challenges facing food and beverage entrepreneurs.

3. Give input. We want your input and have built a café conversation into the day to keep you moving and meeting. The question on the table: “Big, small, local and global, how can we work better together to make our food futures?”

ABOUT THE CAFÉ STYLE
Café-style events are designed to engage a large audience around a big question. The room is set with smaller rounds of six, easier for conversation. One person will serve as the table host. We'll plan on three 15-minute rounds of table discussion that are proceeded by conversation grounding. When the whistle blows, all but the host independently move to new tables. There are introductions made and the conversation begins again, a little deeper each time, while cross-pollinating discussions. Repeat for three rounds. Notes are taken throughout the café and when it's all over, we'll have garnered your insights and reactions on an important subject. And you'll have met a good number of people and have had the opportunity to share your thoughts and expertise.
