DETAILS

A Bachelors degree in Business, Operations Management or related field is normally required; or if non-degreed, a minimum of ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have a minimum of 10 years previous supervisory/leadership experience in a USDA- regulated food manufacturing environment, preferably with ready-to-eat processed meats. Lean Manufacturing experience is strongly preferred, specifically with Root Cause Problem Solving methodologies.

  • Oversees the manufacturing operations-related activities; monitors and tracks production performance and key performance metrics.
  • Ensures standards for product quality and food safety are maintained, and promotes an unwavering commitment to partner safety.
  • Provides leadership to accomplish company goals and objectives, and supports the core values of the organization.
  • Oversees compliance with all safety, food safety, quality, SQF, GMP, and USDA requirements.
  • Essential duties and responsibilities include the following.
  • Support the financial objectives, values, behaviors, and business disciplines of the company. 
  • Oversee the production operations for all facilities, lines and shifts; manage the production process through the production Managers.
  • Foster an environment that promotes safe working conditions and supports partner safety as imperative to our business.
  • Promote an effective food safety vigilance focusing on prevention, and ensure compliance within the operations team without fail.
  • Assist in the maintenance of SQF certification and support activities to ensure ongoing SQF compliance.
  • Ensure departmental and individual objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Monitor the weekly production schedules to ascertain production data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products.
  • Review operating reports; resolve production, operations and maintenance issues in a timely manner to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
  • Communicate Key Performance Indicator (KPI) metrics, including yield, down time, etc., on a regular basis to keep the leadership team abreast of significant issues or developments.
  • Work with R&D and Business Development personnel with new product rollouts to ensure production needs are met, and ensure the production operation has the appropriate tools and material on hand to support the rollout.
