2022 Farm-Factory-Fork Career Discovery
Wednesday, October 12, 2022, 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM CDT
Category: FaB Events

To inspire the next generation of talent into the career-making possibilities of our food and beverage industry, FaB hosts its Farm to Factory to Fork High School Career Discovery. With nearly half of our existing working population due to retire, ensuring there is a pipeline of talent for the food and beverage industry is more important than ever. Additionally, talent is required if we are to double our food production by the year 2050 to feed a global population of 9.7 billion. Since 2014, over 2,000 high school students have met with an impressive collection of exhibitors, including ingredients, consumer product and packaging makers, grocery retail, and professional service firms focused on the industry. Students hear from industry leaders and innovators, participate in interactive discovery activities for valuable hands-on learning, and share their ideas for feeding the world. FaB's annual Farm-Factory-Fork Career Discovery offers high school students an impression-making, career-based learning experience with Wisconsin's food and beverage companies.

Come prepared with an interactive discovery activity for valuable hands-on learning! Share applicable work-based learning options your employer provides (e.g. college internships, youth co-ops, job shadowing, etc.) and share your food stories with students. Your introductory discovery activity serves as a springboard to catch the attention of students while introducing your company, and should be interactive and short and simple, as new students will continue to flow to your table. Past activities have included testing out production and packaging equipmenttrivia and guessing gamesviewing food and beverage products under a microscope, and trying on protective gear. Be creative and think outside the box...and bringing samples is always a good idea!

Your exhibitor fee includes participation for you and your colleagues, one 8-foot display table, and FaB-made tabletop signage identifying your company/organization. Find inspiration from past years' activities  here.
