What You Do.

  • Maintain and promote a safe work environment by taking appropriate safety measures.
  • Represent Sargento in a professional and ethical manner when dealing with governmental agencies (City, State, OSHA, DNR, USDA, etc.) and external entities (WI Public Service, Insurance Carrier, Security, etc.).
  • Strict house keeping of area.
  • GMP knowledge and practice at all times.
  • Pride and ownership in task and job performed.
  • Follow established maintenance excellence and required standards of excellence.
  • Utilize the predictive maintenance diagnostic tools and procedures provided, interpreting and documenting results.
  • Taking appropriate measures to prevent failure.
  • Monitors and advises on proper electrical installation and troubleshooting techniques, verifying that electrical and control standards and compliance guidelines / requirements are followed.
  • Determines the optimum frequency of preventative maintenance by reviewing the manufacturers service manual along with reviewing records of electrical related issues.
  • Will participate in, and write Lockout Tag out procedures, for new and upgraded equipment / facility installations, utilizing audits and PMs to stay current.
  • Understands production and operation schedules and confers with other staff and with maintenance supervisors to determine when planned electrical maintenance will least interfere with operations.
  • PLC install, replacement, diagnostics, and program changes.
  • PC based control installs, replacement, diagnostics, and program interpretation.
  • Robotic control and feedback device troubleshooting.
  • Meets daily with Manufacturing and Engineering to discuss Production electrical and electrical control needs.
  • Promotes necessary on the job training and coaching to further develop technicians electrically.
  • Mentors and assists in the development of Sargento apprentices and new Maintenance hires electrically related.
  • Assesses training needs electrically within the maintenance group for safety as well as developmental needs as necessary.
  • Installation of electrical components.
  • Reading and interpreting drawings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor and/or plant engineer.2nd and 3rd shift positions.

Your Education and Experience.

  • Your Education and Experience.Associate's degree (A. A.)
  • Industrial Electrician and control or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or Industrial Electrician and Control, State certified Journeyman’s License
  • All with three to five years related experience preferred. 

Your Qualifications.

  • Knowledge of proper PPE and electrical hazards requiring protection.
  • Knowledge of The National Electrical and local electrical codes.
  • Knowledge of the electrical construction and maintenance practices and procedures.
  • Knowledge of engineering practices and procedures and related mathematics.
  • Skilled in the practical application of electrical testing devices.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical plans and complex circuit schematics.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and install control circuits and compute electrical formulas.
  • Knowledge of PLCS, specifically Allen Bradley

Sargento is a refrigerated food production facility and the ability to work in a cold environment is a necessity. Machinery, moving mechanical parts, and robotics are used during production, so the work environment is usually loud. During sanitation work, you may be exposed to wet, humid, damp conditions.
