WE HAVE GOALS TO HELP YOU GROW AND OUR INDUSTRY LEAD
WE OFFER YOUR COMPANY & PEOPLE ALL OF THIS
WE HAVE INDUSTRY REPRESENTATION ACROSS OUR MEMBERSHIPWe're FaB Wisconsin, a cross-industry food and beverage membership organization. Our 150 member employers embody Wisconsin’s industry strength – big and small, local and global, from nutrient dense to decadence – all with incredible capacity for growth and leadership. Mostly clustered in Wisconsin, we offer interwoven industry experience, know-how, and the spirit of Wisconsin’s thriving food and beverage scene. Wisconsin’s industry strength – from farm to factory to fork – is of the best in the world. We're home to 65,000 farms and over 3,700 food, beverage, and ingredient manufacturers. We're America’s Dairyland. We’re a leader in organics. We’re known for our beer, brats, and cheese. We’ve named two of our professional sports teams, Brewers and Packers, after trades of the industry whose work and opportunities continue to thrive today. Wisconsin’s industry know-how, garnered across the state over the past 200 years, is reflected in our member companies and organizations and in the thousands of those who bring the world Wisconsin’s food and drink. Our secret sauce is the workforce with passion and purpose to feed and quench the world. We're organized so that our member companies and employees can take advantage of that strength for business gains and collaboration as we come together in leadership of Wisconsin’s food and beverage industry. Half of our members half are categorized as food or beverage businesses, and half are categorized as service providers.
WE'RE ENGAGING INDUSTRY LEADERSHIP
Industry experience, from FaB’s full-time team and running through the hierarchy of our leadership bodies, is central to FaB's industry leadership. FaB’s work is constantly informed by the FaB team, led by the Executive Board with direct input from the Leadership Council, through our Industry Briefings, and with insights garnered by our Member Forums and Member FaBricators. Our capacity is expanded through operational partners with strategic expertise.
HOW WE GOT STARTEDIn 2010, the Milwaukee 7 (M7), the seven-county regional economic development collaborative of southeastern Wisconsin, had identified food and beverage manufacturing as a targeted industry for regional economic growth. The M7 seized the opportunity to develop a food and beverage manufacturing cluster organization to support the high potential for economic impact the industry offered the region. The M7, with its parent, the Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce (MMAC), seeded the formation of what would become FaB Wisconsin. MMAC continues to provide FaB a home. FaB is not a stand-alone entity but an organized collaborative of the MMAC, which gives us operational autonomy while providing us office space, payroll, accounting and IT support, employment benefits, and leadership guidance. |
