Newaukee will launch a strategic partnership with six area breweries, the local event organization announced Monday.

Newaukee, known for its popular night markets it's been hosting since 2014, will partner with six Milwaukee-area craft breweries and feature their beers at its future events. The partnership includes Eagle Park Brewing Co., Gathering Place Brewing, Milwaukee Brewing Co., MobCraft Beer, Sprecher Brewing Co. and Third Space Brewing.

"Over the past few years, we have received feedback from our attendees that they are looking for a craft beer experience at our events,” said Angela Damiani, the co-founder and CEO of Newaukee. "We’re excited to work with these fantastic local breweries and showcase their products.”

Wyatt Tinder, Newaukee's communications and design specialist, said the organization reached out to the newly formed Drink Brew City and started talking with MobCraft co-founder and Drink Brew City president Henry Schwartz. All six breweries in the partnership are members of Drink Brew City.

"From those conversations, these six local breweries came forward wanting to enter a partnership with us," Tinder said.

Tinder said the partnership will include featuring beer from the six breweries at Newaukee events as well as hosting Newaukee events at the breweries. He added that Newaukee is exploring ways it can work with the breweries to "create new experiences and events for the city of Milwaukee."

"We are excited about this partnership because we think it's central to our mission to be supporting local businesses, at varying sizes and stages of their business journey," he said.

Schwartz said he's been a big fan of Newaukee and its night markets for years. Newaukee announced the schedule for four night markets, beginning June 12, earlier this month.

"When I heard they wanted to feature local breweries at their events, I was very excited," Schwartz said. "Newaukee is such an influence to new Milwaukee residents, and exposing them to awesome local beer is a huge part of building the local brewing community and elevating the status of our city.”

Tinder agreed that exposure for the breweries is a key component of the partnership.

"We see this partnership as an opportunity to connect our attendees to local businesses and local assets in the city that they may not realize exist," he said. "Through this partnership, we're excited to showcase new and different places in the city where people can come together and be social."
