A taproom by Hacienda Beer Co. is now open to the public on Milwaukee’s east side.

The Door County-based craft brewery brought the taproom and restaurant to the former site of G-Daddy's BBC Bar and Grill and Hotel Foster. Located at 2018 E. North Ave., Hacienda’s taproom is at the busy intersection of North and Farwell avenues, across from Crossroads Collective food hall.

The Hotel Foster portion of the building remains vacant.

The owners of Door County Brewing Co. created Hacienda to craft more experimental beers.

Following a soft opening on Thursday, the Milwaukee taproom marked its grand opening Saturday.

Milwaukee-based 360 Degrees designed the taproom. The company said in a news release that it wanted the venue to reflect "a blend of casual, whimsical, yet hardworking, sophisticated and timeless qualities.”

Barthenheier Construction Co. helped 360 Degrees with the build-out.

The space features an elevated seating area that will also double as a stage for live performances. Guests can expect 12 taps, a full menu, an espresso bar and carry-out cans of beer, according to the release.

Milwaukee developer Josh Jeffers purchased the building in 2018. J. Jeffers and Co. was represented in the lease agreement by Bruce Westling and Kevin Schmoldt of Newmark Knight Frank, which was known as MLG Commercial at the time of the deal.
