Position Description
Our PR Supervisor will be responsible for the strategic approach and execution of public relations initiatives spanning the food system. You have proven abilities in media outreach, relationship building, influencer engagement and content creation for both our clients and agency. You are able to get smart on clients’ business quickly and translate that into opportunities and results. Along with supervising and mentoring PR team members, you have exceptional cross-functional team coordination skills, and you have fun doing it! The holder of this role will understand how to pitch a variety of content to media outlets, bring new ideas for brand building and activationand identify creative ways to engage target audiences and build programs that align with client and agency goals.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Seeks out and identifies opportunities to elevate client brand and initiatives, includingbut not limited toevent participation/creation, speaking engagements, media relations, influencer partnerships and sponsored content.

  • Establishes agency best practices for media relations as a disciplinestory pitch development, media outreach, media list management, message training, process, etc.

  • Collaborates across agency disciplines to develop and implement strategic, effective content.

  • Drafts messaging for press releases, pitches, social media accounts, media statements, events and other PR-related opportunitiesAbility to draft long-form/feature articles.

  • Protects and promotes our C.O.nxt brand, helping spot new channels for reaching prospects and ways to create awareness, interest and engagement.

  • Fosters relationships across traditional and online media channels with both editor and sales rep contacts to help identify new opportunities and partnerships.

  • Leads, manages and coaches direct reports within the PR team.

  • Craft and execute pitching strategies within the consumer sphere.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5 years’ experience working in a media relations role or holistic public relations.

  • Previous experience in consumer and social media, as well as influencer marketing.

  • Must possess excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills with strong writing and editorial abilities.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or related field.

  • Experience in Cision and list management systems.

  • Established relationships across the food system a plus!
